Software Development
Low-Latency C++ Engineer.
Design and optimise latency-sensitive systems where performance, correctness and observability are equally non-negotiable.
What we do
We engineer the low-latency foundations behind market connectivity, order execution and real-time risk. Every component is designed to behave predictably under pressure, with performance measured at the level that matters.
What you will do
- Design and maintain high-throughput, latency-sensitive C++ services.
- Profile the full execution path and remove performance bottlenecks.
- Develop exchange connectivity, feed handlers and order-management components.
- Build test harnesses and telemetry for performance, correctness and resilience.
- Review system behaviour in production and lead improvements from first principles.
What we are looking for
- Deep knowledge of modern C++, memory management and concurrency.
- Strong Linux systems knowledge, including networking and performance tools.
- Experience optimising latency-sensitive or high-throughput applications.
- Care for clean interfaces, deterministic behaviour and precise measurement.
- Experience in electronic trading is useful, but strong systems expertise matters most.
Prepare with clarity
Interview guide for this role
You’ll complete two technical evaluations. Depending on the role and stage, we may prefer to conduct a technical evaluation in person.
- Expect modern C++ questions covering memory, object lifetime, concurrency and data-oriented design.
- Prepare for a systems exercise focused on latency, throughput, networking and predictable behaviour under load.
- Be ready to analyse a performance profile and describe how you would measure before optimising.
- Bring a detailed example of a low-level system you owned, including failure modes, testing and operational lessons.
